Ok, I remember you saying that in some other APOD comment section. So, I guess this must mean that silver colored duct tape remains reasonably warm in the sun.Absent an atmosphere, the Moon doesn't have a temperature in a normal sense. Surfaces absorb and radiate heat from the Sun, and from each other.Not doubting that the tape worked, just surprised it did. And the moon apparently gets warmer than I thought it.
The tape was not exposed to extreme temperatures before it was used because it was in the lander with the astronauts. It didn't get that cold until days after they left the surface, when it went into lunar night.
