This animation shows a sequence of near 2 hours of still images, showing the motion of Jupiter's moon Io casting a rounded shadow on the planet's surface as it passes in front of it as seen from Earth, while at the same time another satelite, Ganymede, emerges from behind the planet after being hidden by its shadow.
