The Bridge: Discuss an Astronomy Picture of the Day • APOD: Cosmic Latte: The Average Color of... (2024 Dec 01)

Maybe a little 'late' for the discussion, but as a Brazilian I would like to suggest another possible name: ‘Flicts’ - that is the name of a color presented in the children’s book that goes by the same name, written by the Brazilian author Ziraldo.

I believe it is rather easy to find it in many languages, and THE Neil Armstrong already attested that the moon is ‘Flicts’. How wonderful it would be if we found the whole universe to be some shade of Flicts too!
That sounds plausible if the lunar surface is drenched in sunlight to the point of saturation. When I reduce Cosmic Latte to approximately 7% albedo, I get #4E4C46, probably a good match for the Moon’s average color.
